Mr R.K. Gupta, Chairman-cum-Managing Director, WAPCOS Limited (a Government of India Enterprise under the aegis of Ministry of Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation, Government of India) is a Civil Engineer alumni of the prestigious Regional Engineering College,  now known as National Institute of Technology, Kurukshetra, with First position in the University. He completed his Post Graduation in Engineering (Structures, Civil) degree from Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh and Doctorate in Sustainable Development and Integrated Water Resources Management. Mr Gupta is also Masters in Business Administration with specialization in Human Resource Management. He acquired specialized Technical and Managerial trainings in India and Abroad and represented WAPCOS at various International and National Forums. Mr Gupta has over 32 years’ experience in Water Resources Development and immensely contributed in the form of Consultancy services in almost all the States of India as well as Asian and African Regions such as Bangladesh, Cambodia, Lao PDR, Mozambique, Nepal, Rwanda, Sri Lanka, Tanzania and  Zimbabwe, to name a few.Mr R. K Gupta assumed the charge of President, IWP w.e.fJanuary, 2013.

Er. Avinash C. Tyagi, a 1973 graduate from University of Roorkee, India and a post graduate from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi, has 37 years of experience dealing with various facets of water resources management. He has worked in water resources sector for Government of India for 28 years at Central Water Commission (CWC), Inter-state Tungabhadra Board, and Ministry of Water Resources. For the last 9 years, at the World Meteorological Organization, he has developed an intimate knowledge of issues related to water resources management in developing countries around the world.
Mr. Tyagi is presently heading International Commission on Irrigation & Drainage in the capacity of Secretary General. Mr. Tyagi is also Regional Council member of GWP South Asia.

Mr. Sanjay Kundu is an IPS officer of 1989 Batch of Himachal Pradesh cadre. He is now Joint Secretary (Policy& Planning) Ministry of Water Resources, River Development, and Govt. of India. MrKundu is also holding the additional charge Brahmaputra Board and Peninsular Rivers.

Dr. Suresh Kumar Chaudhari, Assistant Director General (SW&M), Indian Council of Agricultural Research, New Delhi acquired his B.Sc. (Agri), from JNKVV, Jabalpur, M.Sc. (Agri) and Ph.D from MPKV, Rahuri. Earlier he served as Scientist, Senior Scientist (SS), in various Institutes, Principal Scientist, and Head (Soil & Crop Management Division), in ICAR-Central Soil Salinity Research Institute, Karnal. His areas of research are dynamics of irrigation induced land degradation, soil hydraulic properties under different quality waters, influence of poor and marginal quality waters on soil properties and plant growth, direct and indirect estimations of soil hydraulic properties, pedo-transfer functions to describe soil hydraulic properties and irrigation water management in field crops.

Dr. Aman Sharma is the Executive Director, Ganga Rejuvenation, Environment & construction Management, WAPCOS Ltd. He has more than 24 yrs. of work experience in conducting Environmental Studies for hydropower, irrigation, ports and harbours, mines and construction projects. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering and doctorate from Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi in Environmental Engineering (Gold Medalist). He also holds training Certificate course on satellite Image Interpretation & GIS from Environmental system Research Institute (ESRI) and Management of Reservoir Sedimentation from Engineering Staff College of India.
Dr.Aman Sharma  was also associated with the various organizations such as India water works association, Nagpur, Indian Association of Hydrologists, Roorkee, WRD 24 of Bureau of Indian Standards, Technical Advisory committee formulated by Central Water Commission (WC) and also Panel of experts constituted by Department of Science and Technology (DST).

Ms.AditiChadhaKapooris the Co-founder and Director (Policy and Partnerships) of Alternative Futures, a policy research and communication group set up in 2000.  She has over two decades of work experience in evidence-based policy research, policy engagement, capacity building, media and communication as well as strategy andprogramme development on issues of gender, environment, climate change, economic empowerment and development, especially in the context of livelihoods, sustainability and disaster risk reduction.

Ms. GargiBanerji is a founding member of Pragya. Gargi’s career spans 25 years of experience in research, development and consulting and straddles both the corporate and development sectors. She is a post-graduate in Business Administration, and has worked as a management consultant with Tata Consultancy Services and thereafter with Prometheus. In this role, she has consulted for several large industrial houses, including many large multinational corporations, and also carried out projects for the state and development sector and provided advice on issues as diverse as child labour, deforestation, technology divide and gender inequity. For her work on conservation of medicinal plants Gargi received the Whitley Award for Conservation in the year 2000. In India, her work has been recognized with the MSDS Award for Social Entrepreneurs and by the National HRD Network for her contribution to development.
